A Liberty Reborn/Examiner.com Exclusive

I was channel surfing last Wednesday night when I saw Frank Luntz on FOX News. He had with him one of his focus groups and was asking them questions about the Massachusetts special election where Scott Brown, a Republican, rocked the very blue state to its Birkenstocks. What I saw in the few minutes I watched was a bunch of left leaning voters spinning and concocting reasons for why Brown not only won but also why some of them voted for him and few if any of the reasons, surprise, surprise, were President Barack Obama. In fact at one point the voters were all asked to raise their hands if they thought that this result was more a rejection of Speakerette of the House Nancy Pelosi and up went most of the hands in the audience.

I even heard an excuse or two saying that voters thought that it was Nancy Pelosi who was dragging President Obama too far to the left. Well guess what my friends, denial is not just a river in Massachusetts.

I have been getting all sorts of the emails from liberals ever since polls started to show Scott Brown winning the election going away. And the excuses are the same in those emails as I saw on the television. I have more emails that I can count from all over the country and from before the election stating that if Scott Brown wins it would be a repudiation of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid who are forcing the President, whom these emailers voted for, to move too far to the left and that it would not in any way be a rejection of their messiah upon whom they have placed all their hopey changey dreams. Since the results officially came in those emails have eliminated the, “if he wins,” and moved on to analyzing what is now a final score with the same slant. I particularly love the emails that go into great detail about how President Obama is not a radical left wing Marxist and how he does not want to increase taxes on people (other than the vile rich who deserve it of course), increase the welfare rolls and people’s dependency on government, slap down free markets and punish those who are working hard and succeeding despite his best efforts.

Some of the really far out, but still numerous, emails which are from really delusional Obamatons in Massachusetts actually, get this, claim that they love Barack Obama so much that they had to vote for Scott Brown to save the President from these far left radicals in Congress trying to ruin him. Yeah … right.

Who are these people? Apparently they are people who are still too smitten with the messianic image of a false savior to realize the truth. This is just like how I was getting all sorts of emails from so-called conservatives telling me that they were so conservative that they just had to vote for Barack Obama over John McCain even though McCain, while still quite liberal, was still more conservative than then Senator Obama.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are the ones dragging Obama to the left? Are these delusional people serious? Ok, maybe they are not delusional. Maybe they are just ignorant. But that is no excuse considering how easy it is to obtain information about what Barack Obama was calling for long before he was elected to the Senate and later the White House. This is a man that talked about wanting to drive insurance companies out of business in favor of a single payer, government run socialized medical system. This is a man that talked proudly about redistributing wealth through taxes. This is a man that swallowed the greenie weenie Kool-Aid long before it was official government policy to subjugate the American people to all sorts of additional costs and regulations in the name of a farce. And let us not forget that this is a man that targeted Wall Street and the 401k plans of millions of Americans in the name of class warfare many years before taking up a seat in the White House.

You liberals out there thinking that Obama is being lead around by the nose by Nancy Pelosi are fooling yourselves. This is a guy that is a fellow traveler to Nancy and Harry and all the far left radicals currently sitting in Congress calling themselves the Congressional Progressive Caucus. He was friends with Jeremiah Wright and his hateful ideology of black superiority before either of these nuts knew he was one of their fellow nuts. He was palling around with goonish thugs from the Weather Underground, that would be Bill Ayers, for years before getting his shot at the White House.

Wake up people. I have watched Mr. Obama speak many times and I have not fallen under his spell so I know that he is not using any sort of mind control device. I am forced to believe that you are simply and willfully believing a fallacy that you have concocted to support this man for whatever demented reasons you have come up with on your own or been fed by others.

The sooner you realize that President Obama is a fellow traveler to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and all too eager to move the country as far to the left as he can, the sooner you can move on and cure yourself of this harmful psychosis. I am here to help you if you want. But you have to want the help. If you do not want it then there is nothing I can do for you and you will continue to be one sick little puppy.

Americans keep getting taught important lessons. Americans however also keep ignoring those important lessons. Who knows why exactly they do this. Perhaps they are just too stubborn and too desirous to live in a world that does not exist. We all know that fools abound and surround us so it would not be that hard to imagine.

So here we are once again with another tragedy that did not have to happen and blood spilled. This time it is the blood of soldiers as a lunatic follower of the Religion of Peace took out his guns and mowed them down where they stood. He did this as they prepared to head overseas to fight his radical Islamic terrorists brothers and sisters in arms who want nothing but everyone to kneel before them and their god.

How did this happen? Oh, let us count the ways!

As the days drag on and the families of these soldiers are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, we keep learning more and more about Nidal Malik Hasan. You will note that I will no longer refer to him as Major Nidal Malik Hasan because for all intents and purposes he is no longer a member of our armed services in good standing and does not deserve that honor.
`
Apparently our military is still suffering from political correctness because with the information we now have at hand it is obvious that Nidal Malik Hasan should never have been in a uniform and among our soldiers. But no one wanted to do anything about the warning signs apparently. You know, there is a bureaucracy to appease and they certainly did not want to be seen as picking on poor Mr. Hasan because of his radical religion. Oh no … perish the thought!

People have tried to defend him by saying that he was an outcast because of his religion. But what do we learn? We learn that yes, that was indeed true. But it was true because he was continually talking about how right it was for Muslims to stand up against liberty, oppress others and justified suicide bombings! When the half story becomes the full story everything becomes much clearer as usual. But no one wanted to do anything, even as he stood before his fellow soldiers and ignored what he was supposed to be speaking on and ranted and raved about the glory of Allah.

Hasan was on at least one watch list of one government agency after he was found to be trying to contact members of terrorist organizations. Yet no one acted.

He was a troublemaker and lazy. Yet he was promoted.

He was a subpar soldier. So they transferred him to a base where others could pick up the slack that he would inevitably bring.

Oh the perfection and efficiency of government! The evidence that Hasan should have been drummed out of the service and then hauled up on criminal charges is overwhelming. But government bureaucracy did nothing. Americans can only wait and hold their breath until the same things happen with our health care which government now also wants to control. But still even as we have yet another failure of government to look at members of Congress and the mindless sheep that vote for them every couple of years are still ready to give them another chance to screw up our lives, pretend that problems do not exist, promote the incompetents and make us all suffer.

This is the way government works and why it should always be as small as possible. Because the smaller government is the less often it can screw up.

A Liberty Reborn Exclusive

Upon the news that Republicans in the House of Representatives stood firm against Porkapolooza 2009 (aka the Obama Stimulus Plan) I immediately got the question, “Are you proud of Republicans now?” from someone that has been very upset at my harsh tones levied at the GOP over the past couple years. My answer? In short, no.

When the vote in the House came up, all Republicans voted against the bill and were joined by several Democrats denying President Obama a victory he would be able to point to and claim his bipartisan credentials. Certainly I was amazed that not a single House Republican was able to be picked off by the Messiah and his lead disciple, Nancy Pelosi. But I also realize that it does not take a political genius to realize that even a single Republican, no matter how liberal, voting for this bill would have been touted as a “bipartisan” success for the President. And with three wanna-bes in the Senate named Specter, Snowe and Collins siding with Obama on the plan you will now have the bill proclaimed as such anyway.

Recognizing that, any House Republican that voted for it would have been an idiot.

Why am I not proud of Republicans? I am not proud of Republicans because all I have heard from them is that the bill as it was proposed contained too much pork and not enough real stimulus. What this means is that if there had been enough real stimulus included along with even some unconstitutional pork, they probably could have been cajoled to vote for it. In other words, they would have accepted usurpations of the limited powers granted to them by we the people if they would have gotten more of their way than they did.

That is not something to be proud of and no true conservative would be.

I cannot be proud of a party that I do not trust to do the right things when nobody is looking. Had the nation’s eyes not been focused like a laser beam on them and watching their every move I dare say that many of the Republicans in the House may well have voted for a bad bill. How can I say that? How can I be certain? Isn’t that just conjecture on my part? HA! Surely you jest! We have years upon years of unconstitutional pork spending to which Republicans have attached their names as evidence of this. Recently we had many Republicans blindly jumping off the cliff along with the rest of the lemmings with the Paulson bailout. Currently we have an omnibus spending bill filled with Republican pork as well.

So do not play dumb with me and do not feign surprise when I tell you that one stand by a group of politicians scared out of their wits does not impress me or make proud. Do not insinuate that I should start heaping more praise than is due for one of only a few instances where Republicans in Washington have stood up to liberals while on most other occasions they have been all too eager to bend the citizens of this nation over a barrel and have their way with us without even the courtesy to lube us up first.

You want me to be proud of the Republicans? Give me another twenty years of taking stands like this against pork and I will reconsider my position.

A Liberty Reborn Exclusive

With Halloween just a few days away it is important to make sure everyone understands the rules for Trick or Treating. These rules do vary depending on your political ideology as follow.

Rules for liberals:

First, you must Trick or Treat as a group. Liberals must be members of groups at all times and no individual efforts will be tolerated. Six months prior to Halloween you must submit, in writing, your application for your proposed group including photos and complete biographies of the members of your group to the Board of Supervisors in order for it to be reviewed for proper ethnic and cultural representation. If your group is found to be deficient, in that it does not properly represent the ethnic and cultural mix of society as determined by the Board of Supervisors, additional members will be assigned to your group or existing members removed and reassigned to other groups in need of diversity in order to comply.

Second, all costumes must be prescreened and approved by the Board of Supervisors to make sure costumes are not inappropriate. You may not wear any costume that offends or portrays any person, group or thing, real or imaginary, in a potentially negative light. You may not dress as a witch with a pointy nose as this offends Wiccans. You may not, if you are white, dress up like Barack Obama because you are obviously implying that he is white on the inside. You may not dress up like a fairy princess as this is offensive to homosexuals. In fact, just to make it easy, you will not be allowed you to wear any costumes at all. After all, some children will be no doubt able to afford better costumes than others and that is so unfair.

Thirdly, once out on Halloween and the Trick or Treating has commenced, all actions taken by the approved group must be put to a vote where simple majority rules. If the minority disagrees with any decision of the majority they will be forced to comply or be sent to one of the strategically placed temporary holding areas to think about what they have done and how it is wrong to ever think differently than the rest of the group.

Fourthly, when you arrive at a home, all members of the group will arrange themselves in an orderly fashion and elect a representative to ring the door bell. Another representative will be elected to pronounce the typical Halloween greeting of “Trick or Treat” and a third will be elected to survey the offerings the resident has available to chose from. Once a member of the group has held one of the above positions however, he or she will be barred from holding it again until all members of the group have held it as well. All members of the group will then take another vote after being apprised of the choices of “treats” and which treat all members of the group shall accept. All members must receive the same treat as, once again, individual choice is not to be tolerated.

If the resident of a home has no acceptable treats, like that health nut that hands out apples or the like, the members of the group may vote to not accept such a so-called “treat” and then petition to demand that home’s resident produce a treat acceptable to the group. If the resident refuses, the group will immediately contact local authorities who will be instructed to arrest the resident for ignoring the grievance of the group at their door.

These actions will be taken at every house the group decides to stop at for the evening and the evening may not end until all members of the group have held all elected positions (described above) an equal number of times.

At the end of the evening the group will return to a designated point and observe that all members have received an equal amount of each type of treat for the evening and then the treats will be locked in a safe. Form C-A-N-D-Y will be filled and filed with the Board of Supervisors who will review and certify that each member of the group received exactly the same amount and type of treats. Within four to six weeks the Board will notify the members of the group that they are allowed to retrieve their treats less any non-approved types of treats which will be confiscated by the Board for non-compliance.

At this time, any member of the group that somehow received more treats than other members will have their excess treats redistributed to the rest of the group so that all have an equal amount and type of all treats.

Rules for conservatives:

Have fun and get as much candy as you can carry through your own hard work and ingenuity!

A Liberty Reborn Exclusive

The entire fiasco going on right now involving banks, investment houses and other financial institutions can be summed up with a simple four word question; “What do I care?” Yes, this question applies to the attitude exhibited by nearly all involved from those in government, to those that ran these businesses to the very people themselves that put their money into these institutions or took out loans they could not afford and knew they could not afford. For years they have been applying an attitude of simply, “What do I care?”

Those people running the banks and investment houses said, “What do I care?” And why should they have cared? They knew with almost certainty that the government would not let them fail to save the money of everyone that was invested with them and who had entrusted them to be responsible with their investments.

Those in government said, “What do I care?” And why should they have cared? They have shredded the Constitution for years and gotten away with it. They knew that they would probably be allowed to once again do something beyond their authority and get at least grudging support from those scared as to what might happen when their bank or financial institution fails.

The investing public said, “What do I care?” And why should they have cared? They had been lulled into a sense of false security where claims of government “insured” deposits and investments made them believe that they were entitled to get their money back even if they made bad choices about where to place that money.

Those that wanted a house, car or an education at some institution of higher learning but could not reasonable afford one said, “What do I care?” And why should they have cared? They were offered easy money and they knew all too well that if they screamed and stomped their feet enough as they were failing to keep up with their payments, it was likely someone from the government would try to help them out in exchange for their vote and loyalty.

Those that made the bad loans said, “What do I care?” And why should they have cared? The federal government coerced them into making these bad loans and government institutions were willing to buy up the bad paper they were issuing without question. Besides, those at the top of each company would only be there for a couple of years before they could retire with a nice golden parachute attached to their backs after cooking the books. And maybe a presidential candidate would even make them an advisor to his or her campaign!

The enemy in all this mess? Is it not clear? We have seen the face of the enemy – the enemy is us.

We have been irresponsible. But what did we care?

We have violated basic laws of economics. But what did we care?

We have socialized whole segments of the economy to try to save ourselves from ourselves. But what did we care?

Well boys and girls, we had better start caring. Because there is no adult with deep pockets to bail us out of this one and give us a dollar to buy that candy bar we cannot afford no matter how loudly we scream at the top of our lungs in the checkout line.

Oh, and it gets worse. I cannot believe the talk that I am hearing from people who would normally be counted on to be fiscally conservative and who are talking about proposed government bailouts, with tax payer dollars we do not have, and as though they are necessary. Granted, some are doing so with a grudging sigh which belies that they know it is not a good idea. But they are still going right along and hopping on board the magical money train that is preparing to leave the station.

I suppose that I should tell them that what they think is a train that will take us to safety is really just a cardboard cutout with nothing holding it up but a few government employees pulling down exorbitant salaries. All of you supporting this latest scheme by the government will learn this soon enough that there is nothing on the other side as you walk on board and promptly fall to the tracks below.

I have not said it in a while, but I think it bears repeating at this very instance. When people are up against the wall is when we find out what their true economic beliefs are. Right now a lot of people who painted themselves as believers in capitalism are showing that they are truly some shade of Marxist and preaching some ideology or another from socialism to communism. Why? Because their ass is in the fire now and they have failed their trial.

Which is so very odd. It is odd because my ass is in the same fire. I sit each and every day listening to the radio and watching television and those people who I was told, at least by their own lips, were conservatives and capitalists now talking about having to do something to stop this pending crash. I hear presidential candidates who are running around trying to gain support from their conservative base sounding so dejected and proclaiming that while it may not be the greatest thing to do, that something must be done. Yet every day I am sitting there, yelling at these so called conservatives who cannot hear me that this is not the answer.

People fear what will happen if the economy crashes. It is a justified fear. And they have let that fear turn them to the dark side.

I am still sitting here, with my ass in the same fire as every other American, because all of you have dragged me along despite my own best efforts. You have tied the same anchor around my leg that you have tied around yours. I am saying that the option is not to bail out these banks and institutions with hundreds of billions of dollars. I am saying proudly and loudly that the option, the only viable option that will not lead us to bigger government and more failed political policies, is to cut loose the anchor and ditch the stupid regulations that are tying us down. Then, if these institutions still fail, let them fail!

No, I am not some rich guy with millions of dollars in gold stashed away in some off shore account and who would not be hurt by the crash that would result from such actions. But I am someone that believes, truly believes, in what I say and will not abandon those principles as easily as others have because some have distorted the markets and the economy for political power and created a panic that could be solved by cutting loose the anchor. And I am confident that I am better prepared to survive the crash compared to all of you that kept neglecting your own duties and responsibilities.

What we have right now is not a failure of capitalism. What we have is a failure of socialism. If you doubt that, think about how much government control goes into everything that happens in a given day and how much regulation is heaped upon us, the American public, in the name of doing something and exerting control over businesses and the economy to protect us from our own selves.

Let the banks that are failing because they are bad banks, fail. Let the mortgage lenders that are failing because they are bad mortgage lenders, fail. Let the investment houses that are failing because they are bad investment houses, fail. Let people that did not take a couple minutes to think about which bank to put their hard earned savings in and who just rushed out to any bank on any corner because they saw that little FDIC insurance guarantee, fail.

Let us fail. Let us all fail! It is the only way we will learn! Only when we fail, and fail proudly, will we reject the rampant socialism that has strangled us and made us complacent.

Let those of us that actually took a little responsibility in our own lives, researched how to invest our money and put some effort into making our lives better fail a little bit less than those that did none of the above. Let us float by casting off the anchor of oppressive government regulation. Then use courts to go after those companies that claim to be “bankrupt” while stashing away $2.5 billion dollars to pay bonuses to the employees that drove the ship into the iceberg. Use that money to pay off their debts to the people they have not served well.

That lesson, if taught, would send shockwaves through our pseudo-socialist economy.

Let us take responsibility. If we deserve to fail, let us fail. And let us fail proudly! Then let us practice our God given right to pick ourselves back up again and learn from our mistakes. And if you are one of those that fail again because you did not learn your lesson, let us hope that you do not drag the rest of us down with you again by demanding another anchor be placed upon us because you were not responsible.

Is such a solution just a dream? Sadly, in this nightmare that has consumed the American public where everyone is now clamoring with his or her hand out and asking government to save them from themselves, it is dream that possibly will never be dreamt. And really what do we care? Sure we are in a hand basket and traveling on the road to Hell, but at least the road has been paved with good intentions and the trip is paid for.

A LIBERTY REBORN EXCLUSIVE!

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
A day in September and going to work.
On the way there I was planning my day.
Hearing the news of an attack on our home.
Watching on television as the twin towers were set ablaze.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
The news of those cowards that killed even more.
As they plowed another plane into the Pentagon.
Those that rallied on board a fourth plane.
Those that sacrificed and put it all on the line in Shanksville, PA.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
Praying for those that we knew who were dead.
Praying for those that we hoped to have survived.
Confusion that gripped a nation trying to come to a realization as to what happened.
The roar of fighter jets in the sky above.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
The radicals claiming that this was not over.
How they would make us pay for imagined sins in their own little brains.
The way Americans rallied against the face of evil.
And a man with a bullhorn standing among what was now rubble.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
A brief moment of unity in Washington, DC.
Unity that quickly started to faded as politics came into play.
A choice to fight back and not cower and hide.
Political back biting and then claims of big lies.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
Soldiers who prepared to head off for a war.
Others that wrung their hands at the thought of defending our selves.
Brave men and women alike that went overseas.
And not a single one of them forced to do so with a gun to their head.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
A powerful defeat of the evil from that September day.
And others that plotted and told us that this was all wrong.
The betrayal of our men, our women, our country.
Slurs comparing our soldiers to NAZIs, Pol Pot and others.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
Hollow men of a by gone era implying our soldiers were murderers.
Vigorous defense of such claims and trumped up charges.
The faces of men and women with purple fingers and with some more liberty than the day before.
And anger in my gut at those who claimed that it was still all wrong.
I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.

I have not forgotten, nor will I forget.
That for one shining moment a belief in liberty united us all.
A belief that all were given by God himself the right to such.
How many have tried to taint our reaction.
How many have tried to claim it was too much.
How many have tried to lie about why all was done.
How many have at every turn worked to undermine the mission.
How many have sought to do so for no other reason than the pursuit of their own power.
How many have sought to use these lies to rally against doing what was right and just to take America down a notch.
How evil still exists and continues to plot our demise.
How the dead are still gone and without vigilance and determination more will leave us.
No, I certainly have not forgotten.
And you bet your ass I will never, ever forget.

A LIBERTY REBORN EXCLUSIVE

John Edwards has run around the campaign trail over the past few years crying about how there are “two Americas”. He is right too. Although not in the way he believes. He believes that the “two Americas” are the “haves” and the “have nots” and where the nefarious “haves” are constantly working to keep the poor, incompetent “have nots” down. But in reality the “two Americas” that really do exist are where you have some so-called Americans (like most Democrats and many Republicans) who work tirelessly to destroy liberty fighting against Americans struggling to maintain their inalienable rights.

Recently, those so-called Americans out there in the Democratic Party that are trying to destroy individual liberty have shown John Edwards that not only are there two Americas, but also two Democratic Parties as well. What is more, Mr. Edwards has learned that he is the lesser of the two Democratic Parties and not welcome among the elites who reside in the other.

With confirmation of his affair (and possible love child) while his cancer riddled wife was suffering, John Edwards has been cast aside by the party elders and the elites of the Democratic Party. Meanwhile these same all-knowing members of the other and more privileged Democratic Party gave one of their own, former president Bill Clinton, a position front and center at their national convention in Denver.

There are few differences between Mr. Clinton and Mr. Edwards with regards to how they treated their wives. If anything, Clinton’s actions were worse!

John Edwards cheated on his wife. So did Bill Clinton.

John Edwards violated his wedding vows and the trust of a woman that stood by him. So did Bill Clinton.

John Edwards lied about cheating on his wife when he was confronted. So did Bill Clinton.

But Bill Clinton’s actions went further. He not only lied about his actions but lied about them under oath. He also suborned others to perjure themselves and ultimately he tried his damnedest to prevent a woman from having her Constitutionally guaranteed day in court by doing so.

But at this year’s nominating convention, Bill Clinton was speaking before adorning fans who still swoon over his non-existent, except in their own minds, sex appeal. He was given the chance to address the party faithful and still is held in great reverence among those trying to deconstruct our American Republic.

But as for John Edwards? Well, he has been ostracized. Sexual relations out of wedlock, while a resume enhancer for a Democratic Party elite like Clinton are not looked upon with the same light when it is on the short list of accomplishments of a failed vice-presidential candidate who made his living as a huckster lawyer before turning to politics.

The two Democratic Parties were on display in Denver as they have been for years to anyone who cared to notice. The elites have always ruled while the undesirables who are needed only for the purpose of securing their power are treated differently. And now John Edwards knows where he stands – in the lesser of the two Democratic Parties right along with all the other undesirables liberals use and abuse when it suits their ends.

A LIBERTY REBORN EXCLUSIVE

Those who have a tendency to lean to the left talk a lot. Often they do so in very loud voices to attempt to filibuster any opposition to them. But it is not the fact that they talk a lot or even loudly that gets them into trouble. What gets them into trouble is that they talk a lot without uttering much of substance. What they do is ramble on and usually spout off about things that sound really good to their own ears but make little sense and that do not stand up under scrutiny.

Take for example the Reverend Jeremiah Wright who this week was once again up on various stages rambling on incoherently. During one of his babbling appearances he actually declared that John McCain is the most patriotic candidate running for president.

No, the words “John McCain is the most patriotic candidate,” did not cross his lips. But what he did say amounts to that.

While trying, unsuccessfully mind you, to divert attention away from his plentiful remarks about how America is evil and even akin to terrorists, that the government invented AIDS to kill black people, calling successful people with dark skin, such as Condoleezza Rice, every name his little mind can concoct, he approached the topic of what he believes qualifies him to be considered a patriot of an America that he cannot apparently stand. Trying to establish his patriotic bona fides after proudly shouting “God damn America” from the pulpit he said, “I served six years in the military, does that make me patriotic? How many years did Cheney serve?”

Ok, looking beyond the idiocy of this argument which amounts to basically a claim that only people who served in the military are “patriotic”, let us look at the logical outcome of this statement and apply it to the current crop of presidential front runners shall we?

Has Barack Obama served in the military? No. So he is not patriotic.

Has Hillary Clinton served in the military? No – well unless you believe her false accounts that she actually did try to enlist. So she is not patriotic.

Has John McCain served in the military? Yes and actually suffered torture as a prisoner of war. So he, like Reverend Wright, would be “patriotic”.

See what I mean about how liberals do not think about what they are saying? They just say it. And then when the obvious conclusion is drawn they wind up actually saying something they did not mean to say.

The problem for liberals is that words don’t really mean things to them. When they say things that they believe like “God damn America” people gasp. Then they realize they have stepped over a line and that the unwashed masses partaking of their “opiates” are not quite ready for such talk. So they say something else to defend that first statement which makes even less sense and that actually winds up supporting their political opposition. They say things such as establishing a definition of “patriotism” that makes John McCain the best of the bunch and his own student, one Barack Obama, nothing more than an unpatriotic fool.

Of course Mr. Wright’s statements on patriotism make no logical sense. Many “patriots” have never severed in the military including many of the founding fathers who were the very first American patriots. Beyond that, he has also discussed how it is wrong to judge and condemn Louis Farrakhan for comments he made decades ago. So he has dug an even deeper hole for himself on the topic he hoped to escape considering how it is apparently right for him to condemn America for the sins of her past. Huh? Can we say “double standard”?

If it is wrong to judge Farrakhan on his past actions then how is it right to judge him on his past actions and grant him the status of “patriot”? How is it right for him to condemn America for events of the past? See? The more he talks the deeper that hole gets. We can only wonder how many shovels he will wear out during his dig and whether or not he will hit China any time soon.

Now because he has kept talking he has even contradicted his own spin. He is supposed to be “patriotic” because he once served but it is also in his mind wrong to hold people to account (and by corollary give them benefit) for their past actions. Logically if Farrakhan cannot be condemned for his past, Wright cannot be exalted for his.

You know, Benedict Arnold was a patriot. But then he became a traitor. People are judged by what they do as a whole and usually with a good amount of weight given to their most recent actions. When it comes to Reverend Wright, that analysis leads to one conclusion. And it is not a label of “patriot”.

A LIBERTY REBORN EXCLUSIVE

The dictionary defines change as something “radically different” or to “undergo a modification”. So here is a riddle. When is change not change but just more of the status quo? When it’s Barack Obama’s version of change of course.

Somehow you probably already knew deep in your gut that when someone as far left as Senator Obama starts talking about “change” he never really means change. Perhaps you do not even care especially if you like the concepts of having the government hand meddling in your life. Maybe you just like the feeling of happiness the mantra of “change” creates deep within your bosom because substance is secondary to style? Maybe you are actually so naive that you actually think that doing more of the same is actually change because you were taught that words really did not have hard and fast definitions?

What is the definition of “is” again?

Barack Obama is finally proving that he is not an agent of change or even hope as he and his wife often discusses in lofty campaign speeches. Rather he continues to prove that he is harbinger of the same old, same old which has brought misery to so many not just in America, but around the world. But that’s ok because if he keeps saying he is for change and bringing hope, all his disciples who gather around and swoon hoping to kiss his feet will continue to flock to his side and “ooh” and “aah” at every word he speaks.

Perhaps feeling the pressure of the realization that even some of his own followers were beginning to seek a little more than simply stating his status as the candidate for change and hope, Barack Obama has begun to get a little more detailed about what his plans actually are. And like I said, once you see his plans you see that there is nothing “radically different” among them.

Whether it is $65 billion a year for even more healthcare above and beyond already existing programs like Medicare, SCHIP and Medicaid or making the “rich”, who already pay the vast majority of all taxes, bear an even bigger burden for the cost of this country, nothing is new or revolutionary when it comes to Barack Obama’s plans.

In reality his plans are quite old hat.

Oh, and by the way, just so you know Obama’s definition of “rich” is people making over $50,000 per year. Because that is where he has stated his tax breaks will end.

He wants even more money for more public education despite how bad public schools are performing against private and charter school. And heck, let’s not let the fact that funding education is no where to be found in the Constitution get in the way of his plans.

He has proposed billions of dollars to be sent overseas to help fight poverty there while claiming to care about the poor here at home. Haven’t we been sending money overseas for decades? Again, how is this “change”?

Obama wants to meddle with business and act outside of Constitutional authority and set up a sop to businesses to pay for employee leave. And on top of that he also wants to provide tax dollars for job training; a billion dollars for that. I guess it would be pointless to ask again for this authority to be pointed out in the Constitution huh?

But I guess since I am a glutton for punishment and like to point out how wrong people are when they actually think they have the power to spend money in such a manner. So I’ll keep asking. Anyone read the Constitution lately? Obama apparently hasn’t.

Exactly how is spending more money on unconstitutional government programs “change” when we have been doing exactly that for decades?

The answer is obvious. There is no change being proposed. But it just sounds so good that Barack Obama and his followers can’t help themselves. And besides, who cares about the facts. Especially if you are one of the sheep begging for the crumbs Obama and others will throw your way.

Just be careful. If you ever take a moment to look up from eating those crumbs off the you might see the cliff you are being led to and you just might be able to save yourself. But damn those crumbs are tasty! And you probably can’t be bothered to look up.

Maybe you will figure it all out. Maybe you won’t. Maybe you will just keep pushing for more grand government schemes. And when you are living in your government provided trailer sucking down toxic Formaldehyde fumes who are you going to blame?

A LIBERTY REBORN EXLUSIVE

Blessed are the peacemakers, especially those that did not return. Memorial Day is the day we honor those that died in battle fighting not just for Americans, but for all people who yearn to have the blessings of liberty.

To call them “heroes” does not do them jsutice. They are so much more. They deserve a name that has not yet been created or spoken and worthy of their sacrifice. This Memorial Day, like all Memorial Days past and yet to come we remember them in the hopes of the day when that word is first spoken.

For these are men and women whose blood has been spilled from the shores of Tripoli, to the beaches of Normandy, to the sands of Iwo Jima, to the jungles of Viet Nam, to the moutnains of Afghanistan, to the deserts of Iraq. Yes, they are more than heroes.

Blessed are they for they were not only willing to put their lives on the line but actually lost their lives.

Blessed are they for their end did not always come swift and painless while staring into the eyes of the enemy.

Blessed are they for they knew that in war some will always die and knew that it could very well be them.

Blessed are they because they gave their lives so that others may live on.

Aristole once said, “we make war so that we may live in peace”; that we fight in order to gain peace worthy of being had. Sure we could chose not to fight and allow an unkind master to enslave us. But that is a peace not worth having for there is no liberty. The warriors are the true peacemakers; when their cause is just. Hope for liberty is always just.

But peace is always short lived. Evil always rears its ugly and immortal head.

Plato once said, “only the dead have seen the end of war”; that there will always be war because there will always be a need to defend liberty from others. Those that we remember on this Memorial Day have certainly seen an end to their own war. And they are in a far better place. And we will not forget their sacrifices.

They are gone. They are not forgotten. This Memmorial Day we remember the most blessed of all the peacemakers.
