Rasmussen’s latest of whether or not Americans think the nation is on the right track or not is pretty scary. At least it is scary if you a Washington political hack sitting in Congress or the White House and don’t have two active brain cells to rub together. Right now the percentage of Americans who say America is on the “right track” is at 25%. It remains unchanged from last week.

The weather is warming as the nefarious problem of man-made hemispherical climate change is upon us. The snow is melting and with Spring just around the corner it is time once again for road crews around Pittsburgh to begin filling the inevitable potholes that form every winter and that we as motorists hit with regularity. It is also time once again for these same road crews to act as though they are the most important thing in the world and that everyone else must bow to them.

This week it is time to consider unthinkable option number three with regards to the federal budget. Previously we have discussed unthinkable option number one, do nothing and keep spending more than we bring in, and unthinkable option number two, raise taxes to make up the differences between revenues and expenditures.

The first unthinkable option, as I mentioned at the end of last week’s article, is to sit back, do nothing different, keep on letting the federal government spend more than it brings in, enjoy the ride and hope like hell that you are one of the lucky ones to die the day before everything goes kablooie leaving a huge mess for our posterity.

Senator Arlen Specter does what liberals always do when they talk too much; they prove that they don’t have a shred of a clue. By now Mr. Specter’s little tussle with Rep. Michele Bachmann has been the topic of much scorn.

Over the Christmas holiday I spent some time thinking about ways that Americans could fight for their personal sovereignty and against the latest oppressive and unconstitutional plans of liberals in Washington D.C. to control our health care and insurance systems.

Last week my wife and I, along with our daughter, welcomed into the world the newest edition to our family. Our son was born! Hallelujah!

“Battles are ugly affairs,” consoled Santa Claus as he handed young Lucy Pevensie her gifts in the movie telling of C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe” as war approached. A few moments later after handing her elder sister a magical bow and arrows without such consolation Susan remarked, “What happened to ‘battles are ugly affairs?’” Santa Claus merely laughs because there is a point where one must be grown up enough to not need reassurance in the face of adversity.
