It was official yesterday, Lisa Murkowski has conceded the GOP primary for the nomination to run for the U.S. Senate to Joe Miller.  Murkowski was on a fools errand waiting for the absentee and disputed ballots to be counted.

For the better part of the past four months I have been regularly receiving random emails from candidates around the country. These candidates are sending me links to their websites, press releases and other assorted emails, I suppose, looking for publicity.

I will say it again; THANK YOU JESUS! I just was perusing the latest information on the saga of Lisa Murkowski to run on the Libertarian Party ticket in Alaska as it is looking more and more likely that she will not overcome Joe Miller’s lead for the GOP nomination to run for United States Senator.

Incumbent Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski is hoping and praying. She is hoping and praying that among the some 7,000 – 8,000 returned absentee ballots that there are enough votes to put her pathetic hide back in the hunt for another term in the United States Senate.

Another update on the race for who will be the GOP nominee for this year’s US Senate race in Alaska. Yesterday I predicted that Murkowski, who is still trying to portray herself as something other than a supporter of big and unconstitutional government, would fend off Joe Miller in the GOP Primary. The last data I saw had Miller trailing by 4 points which was a huge comeback from where he had been. I predicted that it was not enough coming far too late. I did not predict a blowout or an easy win for Murkowski like so many others were, I just predicted that the surge would be not enough.

Here is a prediction. It won’t be a popular prediction among conservatives. And it should not be taken as my endorsement of Alaska Republican Lisa Murkowski. Another week, another poll pitting the two candidates to fill the Pennsylvania Senate seat currently held by Snarlin’ Arlen Specter the Defector against each other. Rasmussen reports that Toomey still holds a lead over Sestak, 45% to 39%.

Senator Harry Reid is in deep trouble in Nevada as the midterm elections loom. He has been trailing Republican Sharron Angle in poll after poll and the people of the State have repeatedly stated in other polls that they have no confidence in his ability to lead and represent the people. So in comes President Obama, the candidate killer. President Obama has taken to the stump for a lot of candidates lately and many of them wind up crashing and burning as he brings his shadow over their campaigns.

Charlie Crist, who swore up and down that he would not run as an independent if Republicans rejected him during the primary, is of course now running as an “independent”. Crist only made the promise he did because he did not believe the polls showing him losing to Marco Rubio. Of course once he did lose to Rubio everything changed and off went Crist to do what he would not do by his own words.
