Liberty Reborn

Last week a government employee being paid by the taxpayers showed an attitude that has become prevalent in America. Upset at possibly being assigned to Iraq and actually doing his job, State Department employee Jack Croddy became irate. Ranting about the dangers and how he had a family and whining about who would take care of his children if he were killed, Mr. Croddy displayed the prime trait of the American’ts.

I will freely admit that I did a bad, bad thing last week. Well, it wasn’t a really “bad” thing unless you were one of those that fell for it I guess. What did I do that was so bad? I set up the Paulbots. Yes, evil rotten me, I know. When I wrote “Earmarking Our Way to Oblivion” I purposefully left out any mention of Ron Paul even though I knew he was just as dirty as all the rest.

During our own struggle for independence from the British crown, we Americans sought out help. Eventually we enlisted the French who were admittedly hesitant to aid the upstart colonists against England. They knew they faced retribution should the revolution go badly. But the facts of the matter are that France did help us and they did help us win our fight for liberty.

In a world where icons and pundits of the modern conservative movement rail against any conservative that would dare think for one second to criticize candidates who have an “R” next to their names because of the fear of liberals taking power it certainly is not popular to suggest what amounts to heresy. I know I am about to say something dangerous. I am about to go against common wisdom if you can call it “wisdom” and point out how non-conservative a prominent “conservative“ really is.
