Is It Really Better Late Than Never For S&P?

Debt rating agencies like S&P, Moody’s and Fitch are about a decade behind the times. And they are desperately scrambling to catch up to save their own reputations. I am not so certain that the old saying of “better late than never” really applies here. Continue reading

There Is No Tomorrow. Literally!

At least in Samoa. The island nation is skipping December 30th, Friday, and heading straight on into Saturday. The reason is that they do a lot more trade with Australia, New Zealand, China and other nations just over the International Dateline (Samoa is 20 miles East of the Dateline currently) than they used to and the leaders believe it makes economic sense to skip this Friday all together. Continue reading

More Money Sent To Foreign Countries For Social Engineering!

Earlier this month I told you about how the Department of Labor sent $10 million of taxpayer dollars to Ethiopia for trying to stamp out evil “child labor”. In that post I said, much to the dismay apparently of you sensitive and snooty types who think that your standards should be everyone’s standards, that in very poor countries like Ethiopia child labor is a necessity for families to make ends meet and just survive. I know that you who hate that reality; you with your four bedroom homes, big screen televisions and two cars in the garage cannot comprehend this reality. But it is reality. Continue reading

A Sound And Balanced Response To Evil

Blind isolationism will always suck those who practice it into war when the evil they have ignored has consumed all others and then turns its attention to them. It is no better a fate than the one that awaits a … Continue reading

Belgium Hit By Moody’s

On Friday Moody’s cut Belgium’s credit rating from aa3 to aa1 because of the continuing crisis in Europe and the member nations of the European Union all pretty much up the creek without a paddle, much less a boat. They … Continue reading

What If No One Wants Your Debt?

When governments want to spend and they don’t have the cash on hand to do so then they have to issue bonds. Germany, for example, needed money on Wednesday. So they made bonds available. The demand however for the six … Continue reading

EU Proclaims Water Does Not Hydrate. Did You Honestly Expect Better?

This week the European Union concluded a three year investigation. They spent a lot of money (tax payer money) and time studying whether or not bottled water manufacturers could claim on their products that water “hydrates”. Continue reading

Time For The Markets To Permanently Price In Europe’s FUBAR Status

The markets, both in the US and abroad, have to stop reacting to the latest headlines coming out of Europe each and every day. This is what is causing instability. There’s a deal on Greece … markets go up. Oh … Continue reading

Atheist Admits Atheism Is A Religion

Atheists are a quirky bunch. They often rail against religion. Some of them are smart enough not to, but the vast majority of them have a superiority complex. For you see they think they are smarter than everyone else because they don’t believe in God. Continue reading

Blame America Contortions Continue Over Threatened Qur’an Burning

Do I condone Terry Jones leading his little Florida congregation in what is now an on again off again threat to burn copies of the Qur’an on September the 11th? No. Does he have every right to do it? Sure he does. But should he do it? No. Will he even do it? No one knows. Continue reading

Another Test For President Obama Looms

President Obama gets tested almost daily. Most of these tests he fails so utterly and completely that even a grade of zero is too high of a score. Every now and again he does however barely pass some tests put before him but it is with what could best be deserving of a D and nothing better. Those are just the facts. It is hard for someone that does not understand the very basics of economics and believes in command and control economies to do any better because the answers that are given to the tests are always answers that have been proven time and again not to work. Now there is another test looming for the President and it is coming from his fellow traveler down in Venezuela; Hugo Chavez. Continue reading

Americans Ready For Another Domino’s Pizza War?

According to a recent Zogby poll, 52% of Americans support “a U.S. military strike to prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon”. Just in case that is unclear, it means that the majority of Americans are in favor of war with Iran. Which means I have to ask the serious question of whether or not everyone that supports such an action is ready to stick with the repercussions of such a strike? Or are they going to get upset when everything isn’t settled within thirty minutes or less? Continue reading

It All Depends On How You Define “Holocaust”

Did the Holocaust really happen? Did Adolf Hitler really murder six million Jews? Maybe the truth is that they all simply got on board a space ship to colonize other planets? Or maybe it is more likely that they all committed mass suicide and threw themselves into the ovens and gas chambers as part of a Zionist conspiracy against good old Uncle Adolf? Continue reading
