Liberty Reborn

Well, here are your choices in November – a devil or a devil. Maybe the choice could be made easier. After all the saying goes, “Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know.” Ok, well the only problem with that philosophy is that we “know” both of them.

The Elders of the Democratic Party threw down the gauntlet before the primaries began. States were warned that if they violated party rules and moved their primaries to dates that did not comply with the Party’s schedule that those states would be punished by not having their delegates seated.

In a world where icons and pundits of the modern conservative movement rail against any conservative that would dare think for one second to criticize candidates who have an “R” next to their names because of the fear of liberals taking power it certainly is not popular to suggest what amounts to heresy. I know I am about to say something dangerous. I am about to go against common wisdom if you can call it “wisdom” and point out how non-conservative a prominent “conservative“ really is.

Mark Foley is a name on the lips of many these days; mine included. It’s amazing actually. Conservative, Republicans, Liberals and Democrats are all appalled. This is the sort of unity that does not happen all that often on Capitol Hill and from sea to shining sea across the fruited plain. The problem is that while all sides are outraged and united in their outrage, they are outraged for different reasons.
