I have heard more than a few Republicans and Tea Partiers in the past couple days talking about how maybe it is time to let payroll tax rate go back up to where it was before American workers got a 2% reduction for 2011. Can I just say one thing about that plan? It is stupid. And I cannot believe that Democrats are actually for maintaining the reduction moving forward.
I mean, sure, Democrats are so desperate to make sure that the poor who pay no true income taxes (but do pay upwards of 30% in hidden taxes on every purchase they make) don’t get a tax increase of any kind that you might think that that would be a good reason for them to keep the rate reduction. But then you have to remember that for liberals the State is more important than the individual and Social Security (the State) will wither and die even faster than it already is if that rate is not increased.
On the other side of the coin we have Tea Partiers that SHOULD be for keeping as much of the money earned by the people in their own hands as possible and SHOULD be for the abolition of unconstitutional programs like Social Security. But instead they are FOR raising taxes and they are FOR giving Social Security another lifeline.
Well, like I have been saying, and most recently said on July 1st of this year, that this issue is going to be up and coming and no one had been talking about it. Until now it seems. What we have is Obama running scared from the “poor” and Republicans and so-called conservatives running towards more government revenue through higher taxes.
Those of you in the Tea Party and the the Republican Party who are actually for increasing taxes better rethink such stupidity. I know, in your mind it is only “2%”. The point is that a tax increase is a tax increase is a tax increase. You do not help the American economy by helping silly, unconstitutional government programs stay solvent. You all need to grow a pair and then learn how to use them.
