Speaker of the House John Boehner is pimping his two part plan to reach agreement on spending and the national debt ceiling. His plan cuts something like $1 trillion from federal spending over the coming years with a promise that Congress will find more spending to cut. All this is in exchange for an increase in the debt ceiling.
Really? Haven’t we all seen this show before?
Here is what the Boehner plan really is. It is a plan that will balloon our debt to over $20 trillion because its cuts are not real cuts. The plan, like all others to date, hopes and prays that federal revenues will quickly approach $4 trillion per year to help make up future shortfalls. His plan cuts money from proposed new spending, not from existing spending.
In the end it solves no problems that we face today and continues to mortgage the futures of our children to pay the way of leaches and fools today.
Enough is enough. It is time to restrict spending to no more than we bring in first. Until government does this the problem cannot be solved and the politicians should not be trusted.
Let us face reality. Let us go bodily past August 2nd without any of these pathetic shams in place and the set limit unchanged. Then and only then will we see real reform in government spending.
