President Obama’s Record Low Approval Index

Not only is President Obama’sdead cat bounce over but the thud has been so big that he has actually hit a record low in is Presidential Approval Index rating with a score of -23. That -23 is the difference between those that strongly approve (24%) and those that strongly disapprove (47%) of the President’s performance.

Reports Rasmussen:

That’s the highest level of Strong Disapproval and the lowest Approval Index daily rating yet recorded for this president.

47% strongly disapproving of the President is nothing to sneeze at. It means that if the election were held today just 4% of people that either only somewhat approve or somewhat disapprove would have to side with this block to defeat him. Want to talk about scary numbers? Those are scary numbers for an incumbent.

All in all 57% disapprove of President Obama’s performance. What a difference campaign rhetoric and reality make. Well, at least Mr. Obama can take solace in one fact which is that those 24% that strongly approve of him are his core supporters who think that big government really can solve our problems and they are unlikely to abandon him. So he will always have about a quarter of the U.S. population in his corner to tell him what a great job he is doing.
