Incumbent Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski is hoping and praying. She is hoping and praying that among the some 7,000 – 8,000 returned absentee ballots that there are enough votes to put her pathetic hide back in the hunt for another term in the United States Senate.
Boldly declaring that, “it ain’t over yet, folks,” as she struggles with the prospect of being ousted by the voters of the State, Murkowski is going to need a miracle. At last count Miller had 45,909 (51.09%) to Murkowski’s 43,949 (48.91%). If there were 8,000 absentee ballots to be counted that would mean that Murkowski would have to poll at 63% among such voters. That’s quite a bit more than among voters showing up on election day and quite an accomplishment if she can.
Reports are that 16,000 such ballots had been requested and that about 7,600 had been returned.
Murkowski has spent much of the campaign desperately trying to convince Alaskans that she is a conservative. However her record of being for TARP, Cap and Trade, Abortion and even government run health insurance (but granted not Obamacare specifically) tell the truth about a woman who, to be honest, doesn’t seem to know what she would do if the peons she thinks she is entitled to rule over cast her out.
And God only knows how she will react if her family name is once again smacked down a peg by the woman they hate so much, one Sarah Palin.
