HELL NO O! We Won’t Go!

Missouri sent a message to President Obama and the liberals in Congress on Tuesday that will be hard to ignore or spin if ignoring becomes impossible.  By approximately 3 to 1 the voters of the “Show Me State” approved Prop C and denounced federal involvement in their health care and insurance decisions.

Less than a year after left wingers expanded federal power into further unconstitutional realms and all but ignored the limited powers of our government in Washington DC, the vote in Missouri sent a clear message.  That message was, “HELL NO O!  We Won’t Go” further down the socialist path.

It was a rebuke that liberals will most likely ignore however.  They will do what they always do when they do not get their way; pretend they are right, tell themselves they know what is best for us peons, prepare the lawsuits, levy threats from the federal seat, and all sorts of ignoring the anxiety being caused by continual constitutional overreach.

The problem for states like Missouri that are planning to push back against Obamacare is that for years they have allowed the federal government to do things it is not allowed to do.  Look at the list of federal expenditures and government programs in any year’s budget and you will find some 60 to 70% (if not more) being spent on powers not delegated to the federal government, nor considered necessary and proper to carry out those powers actually delegated.  Missouri, and all states, have allowed the federal government to do so much for so long that trying to push back now would be a good start but it is not likely to mean a whole lot to those who have been conditioned to think that the federal government is all powerful and can do whatever some politician dreams of doing.  There is a lot of webbing entangling us all to be undone.

While I do hold out hope that Americans will begin to wake up and start reclaiming their liberties from the federal government, I also know how conditioned so many Americans are into believing that they are entitled to some form of government check each month.  Knowing this, I do not hold out much hope.  I do pray that Americans will make me proud however and start telling Washington where to shove all their bribes and loyalty payments to the citizens in order to secure their undying devotion and votes.
