Feds Waste Money With Pre-Census Census Heads Up Mailing

The Census is coming. And just to make sure you know it, the government is sending out, no not the Census document, but a pre-Census Census heads up mailing telling you all about it. Leave it to our federal government to find ways to waste money and send two mailings instead of one paying twice the postage.

What is even better is what the letter says, or should I say, does not say. I’ll fill in the blanks with commentary between ‘[]‘s.

Dear Resident,

About one week from now, you will recieve a 2010 Census form in the mail [complete with many questions the federal government is not authorized to ask you]. When you receive your form, please fill it out and mail it in promptly.

Your response is important. Results from the 2010 Census will be used to help each community get its fair share of [unconstitutional] government funds for highways, schools [even though such expenditure is unconstitutional], health facilities [even though such expenditure is unconstitutional], and many other programs you and your neighbors need [well, not "need" but that you really, really want. Again forget that whole Constitutionality question]. Without a complete, accurate census, you community may not receive its fair share [unconstitutionally distributed funds].

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Robert M. Groves
Director, U.S. Census Bureau

Couldn’t they have just sent this letter with the Census and saved the postage?  No, I’m sure that would have cost some pathetic bureaucrat their job if there was let junk to mail.  And Lord knows we cannot have that.

Remember folks, the only question the federal government is allowed to ask, as the Constitution says, is how many people live at a residence. They are not allowed to ask age, gender, etc. about those people. And one has to wonder why they ask those extra things anyway. Most of it is data the government already collects on things such as your tax form. Hey, I for one am not going to be a good little sheep and follow the government blindly. All they are getting from me is the enumeration question and let them try to come after me with their fines and threats because a lot of lawyers I know are chomping at the bit to be my council if such a case is ever actually brought.

Want to dance feds? I am in the mood to!
