Do Liberals Have Any Popular Ideas?

Day in and day out, liberals tell us all about their ideas. Recycled from nearly a hundred years of failed liberal policies tried, tried and tried again only to fail every time, they have absolutely no shortage of ideas to hurl at the American public.

The problem for liberals seems to be however that their ideas are never really all that popular. Polls regularly show that the proposals from the left have problems notching even a plurality of support much less a majority. Once again this is playing out before us as liberals in Washington have sought to buy off both their fellow Congressmen and the American public with regards to taxing “Cadillac” health care plans.

The whole concept of taxing someone’s health care plan is grotesque enough. But the fact that they are trying to only tax those who have plans which the liberals determine to be too extravagant is even more so. I thought they wanted everyone to have health care and good quality care at that? Hard to make that argument when you punish people for doing just that is it not?

I know, don’t confuse liberals with the facts.

A poll by Rasmussen however shows that Americans are not buying what the left is selling. The concept of taxing health care plan that liberals think are too good is opposed by 63% of voters. It gets even worse when voters are asked the same thing when union plans are specifically exempted. Opposition rises to 70%.

It seems that many Americans are getting fed up with the class warfare tactics of the left and even more so with deals that are cut and which in the end do not treat all American citizens equally. Gee, what a novel concept. Let us hope that voters do not become too distracted between now and November. And while we are at it, what the heck, let’s hope beyond hope that liberals will wake up and realize how dumb and unpopular their wacko ideas really are.
