Fifty-Eight Percent

Here we go again. Yet another day and yet another poll that irks the liberal left in America. This time from the Washington Post. According to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, “By 58 percent to 38 percent, Americans said they prefer smaller government and fewer services to larger government with more services.”

This is the latest poll to once again show that American don’t want bigger government taking care of us from cradle to grave and the constantly rising taxes to do so. The liberals are so keen on passing socialized health care/insurance with about 40% approval but they cannot act when 58% want something? Nope, because it is about power not about what the people want.

But once again I warn conservatives that see these numbers and rejoice. I warn you because, let’s be honest, many of those saying that they want less government and fewer services want less services and less government to help others. When it comes to their piece of the American Pie served up on a hot bureaucratic platter they want it all and then some. That is a political reality.

So while 58% say they want less government in this poll, that is not enough to make it a firm reality because of hypocrites like this. You know who they are. They are people like the senior citizens who don’t think there should be Medicaid but want their SSI and Medicare even though both are paid for by the taxes of others and equally unconstitutional.

58% is pretty good. But we still have a long way to go.
