Martha Coakley, you know that moonbat up in Massachusetts trying to win the now vacant Senate seat once sat in by her fellow moonbat Teddy Kennedy, is a real trip! As is often the case with a liberal they say one thing and then do another. In a recent interview she actually said that Catholics, “probably shouldn’t work in the emergency room,” because they might be opposed to certain things that go on in those emergencies rooms from time to time like providing emergency contraception to rape victims.
Coakley claims that she holds this would be because of the “separation of church and state.” Well, Ms. Coakley the “state” does not control all of our emergency rooms. At least not yet right? But you want to get elected to the Senate to help make that a reality I am sure! And what about freedom of religion huh? Might I remind you that the Constitution is VERY specific about what the “state” can and cannot do. Controlling our emergency rooms is nowhere in the federal Constitution. That much I know but maybe there actually is a power to do such things in the Massachusetts State Constitution. Which would be dumb but then again this is Massachusetts after all! And before I get all sorts of indignant emails from people in Massachusetts I will just present my proof; Senator John Kerry, former Senator Teddy Kennedy, Representative Barney Frank and Representative Edward Markey. So please, spare me the feigned outrage. When you have these sorts, who never met a government entitlement and limitation on liberty that they didn’t like, representing you there is no other conclusion to draw.
What if this were a Catholic Hospital Ms. Coakley? Would you in your infinite stupidity seek to bar Catholics from working there? Or maybe you would just bar the Catholic Church from running hospitals because some of their beliefs offend your liberal sensibilities? And in what other positions do you think Catholics are unfit to serve? Can we get a list?
Second of all Ms. Coakley, like most liberals you are woefully undereducated on the topics which you pontificate on! Seems like no mater how many times I correct the misconceptions about Jefferson’s, “separation of church and state,” comment you liberals keep going backwards and ignoring the truth. But one more time – that comment was made with regards to the state interfering with or promoting a particular church or sect of Christianity above all others. It was about the establishment of what would be in actuallity, or at least see as such, a state church! It is all in the trasncripts in the debates our founders had in the annals of Congress. You should read them some time!
Jefferson never said that people in should be prohibited by government from practicing their religion assuming it was peaceful and not violating another’s rights. He also did not, ever, scold the Danbury Baptists, whom he was writing to when he made that comment, for sticking their noses in the business of government. In fact his entire letter spoke as though they had an absolute right to be concerned and that he was more than happy to address their concerns thus implying that the “wall of separation” was actually just a one way wall in which it was government that was restricted from acting on religion and not religion that was restricted from acting on the government.
As further background on this issue and to clear it up even more, yYou will also note that our founding fathers like Jefferson actually attended church services in the Capitol itself thus making the argument that government could not recognize or support religion utterly foolish!
Of course, what do you expect from a woman who is looking to represent a party that has throughout its history sought to exclude people from pursuing their own liberty? Of course she sees nothing wrong with religious discrimination considering the types of discrimination liberals have furthered in the past. Yeah, I know, the truth hurts. Deal with it you liberal panty wastes.
