Liberty Reborn

Senator Byron Dorgen (from North Dakota) is yet another in a growing list of liberal Democrats deciding to mysteriously pack it in next year instead of face re-election in a climate where they are becoming more and more distant from the views of voters in their states. Actually, they have always been pretty out of step with mainstream America, but using tried and true tactics of bribery they have managed to get enough votes each time an election rolls around. It is amazing what people will put up with being done to themselves and others when you give them something that they want even if they should not have it.

Seems like the excuses as to why Dorgan, and others like Dodd, will not seek re-election are as numerous as their thoughts on powers that they are going to push for the federal government to be granted against Constitutional authority. But here is the simple truth. These guys, like Dorgan and Dodd, are not willing to go back out on the campaign trail and face angry constituents who are getting fed up with their high spending ways. It is easy for these creeps to hide from hostile crowds in off years. All they have to do is hold so-called town hall meetings where they only invite only their party loyalists or make sure that the “friendlies” get there early enough to crowd out those annoying protesters questioning such droll things as the constitutionality of their plans.

These Democrats cutting and running see that their poll numbers are sinking. For the most part they are trailing big time to either named or unnamed challengers and with a tough election battle on their hands they are opting to take their government pensions and go home. But not before heaping upon us, the American public, as much unconstitutional and liberty infringing crap as they can.

Rasmussen shows Dorgan trailing potential GOP nominee John Hoeven by 22%! Ok, not that bad you think because of the “undecideds?” Well, consider this. In that race the “undecideds” are at 0% and just 6% right now prefer someone else. That is as bad as bad gets for an incumbent. Even though Dorgan would, according to polls, defeat Duane Sand if he wer the Republican nominee quite handily, Dorgan has decided not to risk it.

Dodd (a posterboy for liberalism) was in similar troublebefore he threw in the towel running behind three potential GOP nominees in Connecticut including Linda McMahon, wife of WWE big wig Vince McMahon. I’m not saying Ms. McMahon isn’t qualified to hold a Senate seat only that I have no idea what actually qualifies her for such. And talking to people I know from that state, neither do they but they still prefer her to Dodd! That is pretty pathetic.

The DemocRATS are fleeing the sinking ship. But they are going to leave us a present or two on their way out the door. That I can guarantee.
