We hear a lot of claims from the Warmongers that polar sea ice is decreasing and that it is all because of man made Global Warming. Actually, these charlatains are very clever. They do not generally talk about “polar” sea ice but rather just “Arctic” sea ice. There is a difference and it is important because polar sea ice would include both arctic and antarctic sea ice. Why do they do this “trick?” Well because it suits their so-called “science” which has been proven as nothing more than a shell game of hiding and destroying data and a bunch of bully tactics to keep dissenters down thanks to some brave computer hackers who have all but forced the Warmongers to divulge data they were trying to keep secret despite legal requests to produce it.

An aside if I may:

It is sort of like Pirates of the Caribbean at the end of the first episode as pirate Captain Jack Sparrow is escaping and Governor Swann utters the phrase in Jack’s defense, after he helped the Crown bring other pirates to justice and rescue his daughter, “Perhaps on the rare occasion pursuing the right course demands an act of piracy, piracy itself can be the right course?” Of course piracy is illegal. So is computer hacking to obtain data that does not belong to you. But when there is a clear order to produce data and there is no restitution and the people required to comply are not complying and the government will not act in a serious manner? Is it illegal then for citizens, from which all government authority flows, to step up and take command?

A further aside:

Some people scoff at this concept calling it derisively vigilantism and want to punish the vigilante. But vigilantism is nothing more than a citizen upholding laws that the government has decided not to uphold. And again, since all government power flows from the people it is ultimately the people that must hold government to account and if government will not uphold the law, then the people must.

So some brave people did and now the Warmongers have egg all over their faces.

Back to our regularly scheduled sea ice discussion now …

See, the truth is that the warmongers cherry pick data to show what they want to show. Just like liberals cherry pick words out of the Constitution to try and claim what they want to be true as true but take them out of context in order to do so. So they talk a lot of how the arctic sea ice is shrinking because the Earth is getting warmer and warmer all because of mankind and our emissions of CO2. Of course, as I have shown recently, the temperatures in my home town of Pittsburgh have not been rising as of late. In fact, in a follow up to that posting I showed that current temperatures are only not rising but are in fact below the historical average high, average low and mean temperatures for the city as well for the past decade.

Now I am going to show you something else that is going to make the Warmongers even more upset with me; actual data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center. The NSIDC is supported by NASA and National Science Foundation (NSF). In other words, the federal government.

So what does the NSIDC data show? Well it shows that the Warmongers really are not telling the whole story.

First, this chart shows why the Warmongers do not talk much about antarctic sea ice and when they do they pick only selected data from ice sheets that are shrinking. You can see however that overall antarctic sea ice has been steadily increasing since 1979:

Yes, arctic sea ice WAS declining but antarctic sea ice IS increasing. Riddle me this Batman. If the Earth was warming and causing ice to melt wouldn’t it melt all over the world? Of course it would. But as you can clearly see it has not. So much for “global” warming huh?

But that is not all! Note that the chart for arctic sea ice has ticked up in the past five years. If decreasing sea ice in the arctic, but not the antarctic, means the Earth is warming as the Warmongers claim then the uptick in arctic ice would mean we are now cooling correct? Uh yep! At least by their logic.

In fact arctic sea ice is 25.2% thicker this year than in 2008 by a measure of the September to September numbers. It was 9.1% thicker in 2008 than in 2007. In 2007 it was down 23.3% from the 2006 levels but in 2006 it was up 5.7% from 2005. Then in 2005 it was down 6.5% from 2004 but in 2004 it was up 1.3% from 2003. In 2003 it was up 3.2% from 2002 and in 2002 it was down 2.5% from 2001. So while the warmongers will point to arctic sea ice decreases proudly in years where it is down, they often ignore the years where it is up. In fact, based on these numbers and since 2001, arctic sea ice is 12% thicker over those years as a whole. Oops … again, so much for their logic which states that the Earth is warming and that that warming causes a decrease in arctic sea ice levels huh? Because if there is a 12% increase since 2001 that would mean cooling and not warming.

Keep the hate emails coming you little socialists telling me how much you hate me for telling the truth and not hiding my data like your fellow travelers try to do. I enjoy a good chuckle.
