When in doubt, blame the Jews. That has been the rallying point for many on the left for much of the last century from Hitler and the German Socialists to Stalin and the Communists of Russia to the dictatorial regimes of the Middle East miffed that Israel exists. Some have bucked the trend, like Mussolini, but while he personally didn’t abide by Hitler’s idiocy full steam ahead, he did fight along side him.
Proving that the trend continues we have ousted former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya who has recently blamed Jews (”Israeli mercenaries”) of torturing him while holed up and cowering away since returning to the country that kicked his sorry rear out of power for attempting to violate the country’s constitution. That little fact can not be over looked because it has been a favorite talking point of his fellow travelers around the world that Zelaya was the victim of a military coup which he was not. He violated the law and the courts, the military and the nation’s assembly removed him from power.
Yes, Zelaya is rambling on about the Jews but don’t be surprised. They are a favorite scapegoat of the left from the NAZIs to the White Supremisists to the Communists to the Socialists to the fascists to authoritarians to [insert left wing ideology here]. And it doesn’t look likely to change any time soon.
