I am not against gambling. I think that if someone wants to spend their money on games of chance knowing the rules going in then they should be allowed to do so. What I have always been against however is government run gambling from state lotteries, which are nothing more than a voluntary tax like any sales tax would be and which are used to fund all sorts of grandiose plans that officials cannot get direct taxes increased to cover, on down.

I suppose I should not be all that surprised that the New York Times, a paper that can’t seem to hit the broad side of a barn despite standing inside the barn, would have a man on staff that would actually be this clueless and stupid. No kidding, Steven Erlanger is actually sounding befuddled as to why the socialists in Europe are having trouble!

The State of New York is on the verge of violating the rights of its citizens. I know, big shock there right? The heart of the controversy is the State’s MANDATORY vacination program for state health care workers requiring vaccination against influenza. They either get the shot or the get fired under regulations passed in August.

How much is too much? That is the question every American should be asking of President Obama considering his propensity for exceeding his Constitutional authority. We’ve had bailouts for auto manufacturers, the firing of a corporate CEO, rebates for cars deemed “acceptable” by his benevelent Lordship, and he and his fellow leftists are currently trying hard to pass a Carbon Tax (Cap and Trade) and Socialized Medicine on an even grander scale than we already have (and which is failing miserably too). So what is next?

After decades of hiding out in France after admitting to child rape, Roman Polanski has been arrested in Switzerland for the charge as he traveled there. Despite not being arrested on previous visits, this time the Swiss authorites decided to take Polanski into custody and await a formal extradition request from the United States. The French, who had been hiding this scumbag for years are befuddled.

When in doubt, blame the Jews. That has been the rallying point for many on the left for much of the last century from Hitler and the German Socialists to Stalin and the Communists of Russia to the dictatorial regimes of the Middle East miffed that Israel exists. Some have bucked the trend, like Mussolini, but while he personally didn’t abide by Hitler’s idiocy full steam ahead, he did fight along side him.

With only 46% of Americans giving Congress a “Fair” or better rating (4% “Excellent, 12% “Good”, 30% “Fair”) things are not looking good headed into the 2010 elections. Especially with 53% rating their performance as “Poor”. That rating is even more disturbing to members of Congress considering where the current standing of the “generic ballot” where only 38% of Americans favor Democrats over Republicans. 42% favor the GOP.

“Have I got a deal for you,” smiles the tall, thin gentleman in the black suit and properly anointed with a straight, and equally black, tie. His toothy grin parts to ease your fears, “All your dreams can come true. Just sign on the dotted line. And don’t worry; it won’t cost you anything that you need in this lifetime.”

The stupidity of liberals, as I have said many time before, does not amaze me. Nor does their ability to descend like vultures to defend the dead carcass of one of their own. Yes, the emails from liberals who THINK they are lawyers are flowing into my email box based solely on the fact that I have cheered O’Keefe and Giles for exposing the corruption that is the criminal enterprise known as ACORN. Now, I am not a lawyer either but there are some things that I do know. First of all I have had a couple legal courses on the law and the interpretation of the law from when I was working on my Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering. Second of all I know how to use the Internet.

Well, not really a surprise. This what liberals always do. They get caught doing naughty things and then they sue those that expose them. ACORN has now filed suit against Brietbart’s BigGovernment.com, O’Keefe and his partner Giles because Maryland law requires two party consent for audio recordings of conversations. The short explanation for such a law is that Maryland wants to protect people too stupid to watch what they do when interacting with other people. Personally the law is probably borderline unconstitutional because it prohibits someone from obtaining evidence as to what someone else said in a conversation (without their consent) so that party A can defend themselves against party B in case of a slander or libel lawsuit.
