Health Insurance/Care Reform – Simple And Effective
No matter how many times I say that the answer to the “health care problems” people face in America these days is to get government out of the way, I still get the talking point by talking point emails from liberals claiming that I am not offering any solutions to the problem and just tearing down their efforts at utopia. So I thought that I would make this so simple that even a liberal dullard could understand it. The proposal is simple and doesn’t take a thousand pages of psycho babble to espouse or a gaggle of lawyers to interpret.
I call it the “Real Health Care Reform Act of 2009.”
Section 1: Whereas there is no authority for the federal government to provide Medical insurance nor pay for medical procedures for any American under the United States Constitution, all such programs established for such purposes (Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, etc.) shall be terminated and any and all taxes associated with them levied upon the citizenry to cover their costs, if applicable, shall be voided. If individual states under their powers of Amendment X wish to continue these programs for their own citizens they may, but without any assistance or possible bailout from the federal government at such a time as they inevitably fail.
Section 2: Whereas it is not within the federal government’s purview under the few and defined powers granted to it under the federal Constitution to control any aspect of health care or health insurance or any industry related to such, all such existing laws are hereby made null and void. In conjunction with this, all future laws made to this effect will also be considered null and void even if passed under long standing legal precedent that unconstitutional laws are not laws and are not required to be obeyed.
Section 3: Whereas the States are each prohibited under the federal Constitution, Article I – Section 10, from interfering with Contracts, no state may make or enforce and law which requires certain things to be included within contracts for health care insurance such as mandated procedures to be covered, etc.
That is it! It is called liberty you dullards! Don’t say that I don’t have solutions. Do you know how much more those of us who are responsible pay for our private insurance to cover those that choose not to have insurance or those on government programs which are reimbursing doctors at a fraction of their rate? Do you have any idea how much more it costs people to be covered for mandated services they do not want simply because some asinine politician has decided, often in exchange for campaign contributions from some special interest or another, has decided that you must be covered for?
We have a socialized health insurance/care system already in the purest sense of the word in that our health insurance/care system is heavily regulated and controlled by government at all levels. That is socialism and the answer to the failings of socialism is not more socialism. To think so would be to adopt the philosophy that in order to purge your system of cocaine you should do more cocaine.
The answer is more freedom and less government interference.
