Because I know the left, I am going to start this post with an explanation of my thoughts on killing those that murder children in the womb (otherwise known as abortion). I do not agree with killing these abortionists. Believe me, there are times that I would want to, but I don’t agree with that tactic even though I see these fiends as no better than the NAZIs who killed the Jews.

Liberals are gushing over, and President Obama is praising endlessly,
Sonia Sotomayor. Repeatedly we are being barraged by the left with the
personal story of one who could possibly be the first Hispanic woman on

More than a couple emailers are currently sending me links to a new Rasmussen Poll the headline for which reads, “18% Favor National Sales Tax, 68% Oppose.” The comments on this, apparently knowing that I support the Fair Tax (which is a national RETAIL sales tax to replace the income tax code) are along the lines of:

For the better part of the days since Sonia Sotomayer was announced as President Obama’s pick for the Supreme Court I have been telling weak kneed conservatives (i.e. moderates, i.e. liberals) who are afraid to take her on over her ideology because of her race and sex that they need to grow a spine. Repeatedly I have reminded people that the same left wingers today singing Sotomayor’s praises where the same ones that maliciously attacked another Hispanic nominee because he was *gasp* a right leaning, constitutionalist judge. That man was Miguel Estrada and he was nominated by President George W. Bush.

Gas prices are starting to climb everyone is wondering who the liberals will blame now that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are no longer in the White House. The left wing of America is well represented in both Congress and the Oval Office so of course they and their NIMBY policies with regards to oil, coal and gas production cannot be blamed even thought what we are clearly seeing is a an effect of their everything but these tried and true energy sources policy.

President Obama is out and about pumping up Sonia Sotomayor as some sort of qualified jurist. But the truth comes out the more people dig into her background and start looking at decisions she either penned (which are notoriously vacuous) or that she signed on to. For example, Sotomayor, like so many liberal judges, proves her incompetence to hold such an office by ignoring clear Constitutional law. Declan McCullagh reports on her problems with the second amendment:

Well, Sotomayor is proving once again that Obama is certainly not a consensus builder. She is favored to be confirmed by only 45% of Americans even though 87% expect her to be confirmed according to a new Rasmussen Poll.

Things may not be going as well for Arlen Specter in 2010 as he had hoped after polls showed he would loose to Pat Toomey in the Republican Primary here in Pennsylvania. A while back I had reported on what a couple little birdies had told me about the promises made to Senator Specter:

This falls into the “Americans are dumb” category. Why do I say that? Because in poll after poll we have Americans claiming by totals of around 60% to be “conservative.” However I have always contended the actual number is closer to 30-40% with the remaining 20-30% being “moderates” who hate to be lumped in with liberals even though they themselves are pretty liberal.
