Anyone that has read enough of my opinions knows that I think Senator Arlen Specter is a no good snake who does not deserve to be be a Senator due to his lack of commitment to upholding the Constitution and voting for all sorts of unconstitutional spending. Judging by the number of hits my posts about Arlen get from “senate.gov” addresses I would say someone in the Senate, perhaps even old Benedict Arlen himself, has also taken notice of my dislike of him and his politics.
Well Arlen old buddy old pal, I’d be watching my back if I were you because your days in the Senate may be numbered:
HARRISBURG — A new statewide poll shows 53 percent of Pennsylvanians — and 66 percent of Republicans — want someone to replace Sen. Arlen Specter.
Asked whether they think Specter, a Philadelphia Republican, has done his job well enough to win re-election or whether they’d prefer a “new person” in that job, registered voters by a 53-38 percent margin said it’s time to give someone else a chance, according to the poll by Susquehanna Polling and Research. Eight percent were undecided.
Ouch.
Of course I would bet that whomever is Pennsylvania’s next Senator will be a Democrat. Hey, this is the Commonwealth that elected Bobby, I can’t stop running for political office and show up for the job I currently have, Casey after all.
Apparently Pat Toomey is potentially back in the mix to take on Specter in the Republican primary. Toomey, you will recall, barely lost to Specter last time around completely due to the fact that Senator, at the time, Rick Santorum and President Bush both endorsed him; something that speaks volumes about both those two “Republicans” as well I proudly suggest.
Specter needs to go. And if a Democrat replaces him there won’t be any difference in the Senate as far as I am concerned.
