Liberals claim to have found a caveat to the Second Amendment which states clearly and without exception, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This caveat is written in invisible ink we must suppose and it says something along the lines of, “… except for those that we deem to be far too scary looking.”
Yes indeed Eric Holder, perhaps one of the biggest anti-second amendment people alive today, has said that the assault weapon’s ban is being sought for reinstatement.
The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.
“As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons,” Holder told reporters.
“Assault weapons” is liberal code for scary looking guns that they do not think the citizens should have because they pose a threat to them should we ever decide to rise up and revolt.
I’ll let the founding fathers debunk Holder’s idea that he has some right to take these actions:
“The people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full possession of them.”
– Zacharia Johnson
“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe.”
–Noah Webster
“[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation…(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”
–James Madison (federalist 46)
” To preserve liberty it is essential that the whole body of people always possess arms… The mind that aims at a select militia, must be influenced by a truly anti-republican principle.”
- Richard Henry Lee
“The great object is that every man be armed…. Everyone who is able may have a gun…. Are we at last brought to such a humiliating and debasing degradation that we cannot be trusted with arms for our own defense?”
“” Patrick Henry
“Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American…[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. “
- Tench Coxe (Feb. 20, 1788)
Will these facts stop liberal gun grabbers like Holder? Nope. Their illusions are truth to them and the truth is just an illusion.
