Payback – Obama Tries To Stimulate ACORN

President Obama and the liberals in Congress want to give ACORN (an organization often associated with voter registration fraud) a little payback for helping get him elected it seems as the new “stimulus bill” contains a proposal to stimulate ACORN. How funding ACORN actually will help “stimulate” the economy however is anyone’s guess:

Republican lawmakers are raising concerns that ACORN, the low-income advocacy group under investigation for voter registration fraud, could be eligible for billions in aid from the economic stimulus proposal working its way through the House.

House Republican Leader John Boehner issued a statement over the weekend noting that the stimulus bill wending its way through Congress provides $4.19 billion for “neighborhood stabilization activities.”

So ACORN cannot raise enough money on it’s own? Gee, must not be that important and seen as that valuable of an asset to the community!

Let’s see, thumbing through my pocket Constitution I cannot find anything under Article I that gives the Congress authority to spend money in this way and neither did the Federalists who constructed and passed our Constitution either. But this is a new day filled with hope and change!
