Look! It’s Hugo Chavez! And he is coming back begging on his knees for help!
As the price of oil falls and the State proves woefully incompetent at running Venezuela’s oil industry despite attempts by Comrade Chavez, he is now trying to get western oil companies back in to Venezuela.
President Hugo Chávez, buffeted by falling oil prices that threaten to damage his efforts to establish a Socialist-inspired state, is quietly courting Western oil companies once again.
Until recently, Chávez had pushed foreign oil companies here into a corner by nationalizing their oil fields, raiding their offices with tax authorities and imposing a series of royalties increases.
But faced with the plunge in prices and a decline in domestic production, senior officials here have begun soliciting bids from some of the largest Western oil companies in recent weeks “” including Chevron, Royal Dutch/Shell and Total of France “” promising them access to some of the world’s largest petroleum reserves, according to energy executives and industry consultants here.
Aw … poor baby!
My advice to the oil companies is don’t be stupid! Don’t go back in! Hugo will just stab you in the back again at the first sign that the crisis of his incompetent plans is over. Then he will kill you out again and take back iron fisted control. The oil industry in Venezuela will then collapse again then he will come crawling back on his knees again … you will capitulate … he will wait until you get everything running again … he will kick you out. It will keep going on and on like this because Hugo Chavez, in simple terms, is an idiot.
It is time to let socialism/communism collapse without the power of capitalism keeping it barely afloat so that people without two functioning brain cells can continue to claim that socialism/communism actually work. It is time for Venezuela to experience the John Galt solution.
