Retired General Colin Powell is struggling to recover his standing among liberals after years of serving under President Bush (a flaming moderate by still far too conservative for the Marxist left). Apparently supporting Barack Obama was not enough because he is out and about still working to rebuild his street cred with what can best be described as a rambling babble of incoherent mutterings aimed at conservatives and Republicans who he sees as the problems with America because they are too busy “shouting” and being divisive.
We have to remember however that Colin Powell is, at best a moderate. He is someone that embraces socialism when it suits his needs and proved that by backing Barack Obama and serving under President Bush who flirted with socialism on numerous occasions. When President Bush tapped him for the role of Secretary of State I warned that he was certainly not the best man for the job despite having his moments of rational thought. But, being a military man, many people disagreed believing that because he was a General that he must be more conservative than I made him out to sound and not the EEOC hire that he regularly appeared to be while in the Bush Administration.
(CNN) — The Republican party must stop “shouting at the world” and start listening to minority groups if it is to win elections in the 21st century, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said Thursday.
In an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria for Sunday’s “GPS” program, President Bush’s former secretary of state said his party’s attempt “to use polarization for political advantage” backfired last month.
“I think the party has to take a hard look at itself,” Powell said in the interview, which was taped Wednesday. “There is nothing wrong with being conservative. There is nothing wrong with having socially conservative views — I don’t object to that. But if the party wants to have a future in this country, it has to face some realities. In another 20 years, the majority in this country will be the minority.”
Powell, who crossed party lines and endorsed President-elect Barack Obama just weeks before the election, said the GOP must see what is in the “hearts and minds” of African-American, Hispanic and Asian voters “and not just try to influence them by… the principles and dogma.”
Ok, so let’s get this right. Powell says that it was the GOP’s attempt at “polarization” that failed yet he, two paragraphs down, divides and polarizes America into subgroups that need appeasing? Maybe Mr. Powell needs to get himself a dictionary! Polarize: ” to break up into opposing factions or groupings.” (source)
This man has the gall to say such things about conservatives? Maybe we should rewind the tape for him and show him the vitriol that the left had for him when he dared to tell the truth about Saddam Hussein to the United Nations? Maybe he needs the rabid moonbats to start calling him an “Uncle Tom” again?
No Mr. Powell, it is not conservatives you should be scolding. It is the left with which you have joined up with and embraced their anti-liberty agenda. How you could have such things to say about a group of men and women that preach individual liberty and equal rights is beyond understanding unless you have driven yourself off another cliff while chasing yet another irrational thought. If supporting such things is so bad in your eyes then it is no wonder you endorsed the biggest race baiter and purveyor of class warfare and hatred of anyone that has more than someone else in the history of our presidential elections.
Based on this I can only conclude that my original assessments of you were spot on despite them softening during your time defending doing the right thing with regards to Iraq. That conclusion is that you are just a nut in search of a blind squirrel and that like other moderates and liberals it is you that are the problem.
