Lord, our merciful Father in Heaven, we come before you this day to give thanks for the many blessings you have bestowed upon us. We are thankful that you have blessed us this past year and that while we may have at times wanted, all that we have needed you have provided.
Father, please bless us in the coming year to know the right way and path to travel through the rough waters which we have encountered and the troubled times that will confront us as our leaders sort out the messes that they have created because they turned a blind eye to you and your commandments. Help them to understand the right way to act even though many of them have turned from you and have chosen instead to worship power over your undying love.
We pray that you will touch them and teach them the wrongness of murder. We pray and ask that you will show them the error of empowering others to covet and then take that which you have blessed others with. We pray that you will give us, your children, the strength to stand up against them should they fail to heed your gentle hand and guidance.
We know that you are with us always and although we may at times stray from your light that you will be constantly over our shoulder telling us the right thing to do and will not forsake us even if many men may forsake you.
