Liberty Reborn

Think back, if you will, to the flooding in New Orleans following a massive storm and one William Jefferson, Democrat, who commandeered resources to help him get to his home while the residents of the surrounding area were left to sit on roof tops. Fast forward to this last week where another liberal Democrat has had the government do something for her while other people suffered.

During the height of Tropical Storm Fay, when many Jacksonville residents were trying to keep rising water out of their homes or dealing with fallen trees and power lines, the city sent a public works crew to put sandbags around the Brown’s home along the Trout River.

Brown denied getting special treatment, telling Channel 4 that she’s like any other citizen who had an emergency. She said that when her roof caved in and water flooded her home, she called the city for help.

“I had to call and call and call, just like anybody else,” Brown told Channel 4’s Diane Cho. “I had to call several times before I got anybody.”

Neighbor Joe Deloach lives one door down from Brown and he too has rising waters flooding the foundation of his home. He said when he saw the city with prisoners sandbagging the congresswoman’s home, he naturally asked for the same help but didn’t get the same response.

Of course he didn’t get the same treatment. He’s not a member of the Democratic Party elite!

And the excuse that she was “panicked” doesn’t wash here. I’m sure a lot of people where “panicked” and trying to save their homes but you didn’t see this happening for them. Ok what about the claim that she is a “single woman” also was made in this article? What? She has no friends? She knows no one that could help her?  Single women get treated differently by the government?

So just remember this trend. If you are an elected Democrat you can have resources spared at no expense to help you out. And when you as their neighbor requests the same perk? Well – get back in line you troublemaker! Can’t you see that the really important people are being taken of?

Oh, and FYI a crew was also sent to City Councilwoman Denise Lee’s (also a Democrat) home but she did refuse the help. But the point is she got the same offer of the same sort of preferential treatment.
