McCain/Romney? Romney To Appear With McCain Saturday

On a tip from a reader I tuned in to Quinn & Rose this morning because they had mentioned that John McCain would be phoning in to the program to discuss his appearance in Washington, PA this Saturday.  I also wanted to see if Quinn would give McCain softballs rather than hard questions.

I was disappointed on the way Quinn treated the GOP nominee because he did give him softballs and appears to be falling in line behind McCain.  About the hardest comment Jim Quinn had for McCain was that they sometimes disagree.  Woop-ed-de-dooo!

But there were two interesting comments McCain made during the interview.  First he said that he was not sure if he would be appearing with his VP on Saturday because the “process” was not complete.  But at the conclusion of the interview he did say that Mitt Romney would be at the event unless my ears deceived me.

Romney is the front runner for the VP slot according to most insiders and my sources.  He certainly doesn’t make me any more excited about the McCain ticket considering he also has his own massive liberal streak running down his back (see his failing universal health insurance system implimented in Massachusets).  But he could certainly be able to shore up at least SOME support among the conservative base who see him as at least an acceptable “conservative”.

Me?  The only way I will vote for a McCain/Anybody ticket is if McCain is not on it.
