Now THIS is typical of the blame everyone else but me segment of America; parents are blaming the city for their children being burned on hot playground equipment:

Parents of children burned by hot playground equipment are criticizing the parks department.

Surfaces have reached 166 degrees in the hot weather over the last week or so. Burns happen easily with any temperatures over 140 degrees, according to park authorities.

Two children have suffered burns already.

City Council hearings were held on the problem about a year and a half ago, but Geoffrey Croft, of NYC Park Advocates, said they did no good and that this is a citywide problem.
Eighteen-month-old William Casson was burned at Catbird Playground in Carl Schurz Park.

Parents said at the very least, the parks department should post clear signs near the mats, and eventually replace them with a safer, cooler material.

Hey, idiots, here is a better idea. BE PARENTS! Maybe use your God given brains too?

At what age do you learn that things left out in the hot sun get, themselves, hot as well? Three? Maybe Four?
So because you are too damn stupid to have remembered this lesson and made sure to take precautions you want the city to post signs?

Ok, I’ll agree but ONLY if they carry the following message:

WARNING! Because some parents are too stupid to know that things get hot when they are in the sun, these stupid parents are hereby warned that this item may in fact be hot if the sun is shining on it and if they let their children play on it then they might get injured (i.e. burned). If you are not one of these stupid parents, please disregard this message and have a nice day!
