Barack Obama’s campaign denied a request from Ryan Lizza of the New Yorker to accompany the candidate on his trip abroad:

There’s probably no connection whatsoever.

But the New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza, whose long, long article on Barack Obama’s early political days in Chicago’s ward politics (available here) was the reason for the magazine’s controversial cover by Barry Blitt depicting Obama as a Muslim, has been barred from traveling with Obama on his foreign field trip this week.

No … of course not … liberals are never vindictive! (sarcasm intended)

Now, had this been John McCain denying a plane seat to someone that had touched off a cover that portrayed him unflatteringly there would be liberals screaming “censorship!” left and right.

Of course Barack Obama has the right to deny anyone access that he chooses. Just remember this if (God forbid) he becomes president. Either report on him the way he wants you to and in a very flattering light (and don’t you dare mention his ears) or you will be shut out.
