$300 Billion Taxpayer Bailout For Deadbeats
Good thing you and I are hard working Americans. Because if it wasn’t for you and I, our politicians wouldn’t have the money to hand out to deadbeats who either took out home loans they could not afford or that they wound up defaulting on because they over extended their risk.
WASHINGTON (AP) - A mortgage aid plan is on track for passage in the Senate as soon as today. The massive foreclosure rescue bill cleared a key Senate test yesterday by an overwhelming margin, with Democrats and Republicans both eager to claim election-year credit for helping hard-pressed homeowners.
The mortgage aid plan would let the Federal Housing Administration back $300 billion in new, cheaper home loans for an estimated 400,000 distressed borrowers who otherwise would be considered too financially risky to qualify for government-insured, fixed-rate loans.
An 83-9 vote put the plan on track for Senate passage as early as Wednesday, but President Bush is threatening a veto, and Democrats are fighting each other over key details. Those challenges will probably delay any final deal until mid-July.
Think about this for a second! These are people that are already deemed “too financially risky to qualify for government-insured, fixed-rate loans” and we are going to give them government backed loans anyway? This is insanity!
I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. Socialism isn’t trying to come into America. It is already here. Our money is being taken once again to give to and enrich someone else. No “general Welfare” of the United States going on here.
Liberals keep justifying these acts by disregarding the Constitution. Just think what else in the Constitution they will disregard if we keep letting them have power. Perhaps the right to a jury trial? Perhaps the right to freedom of speech?
Oh, don’t doubt that they want to do those things. You will do so at your own peril.
Let’s just make sure we are clear on this who issue … speculating in the housing market and driving up the price of homes is good and if you lose your shirt the government will bail you out, but if you speculate in the oil market and drive up the price of oil you are evil incarnate?
