Rev. Wright Unwittingly Declares John McCain Most Patriotic Candidate
A LIBERTY REBORN EXCLUSIVE
Those who have a tendency to lean to the left talk a lot. Often they do so in very loud voices to attempt to filibuster any opposition to them. But it is not the fact that they talk a lot or even loudly that gets them into trouble. What gets them into trouble is that they talk a lot without uttering much of substance. What they do is ramble on and usually spout off about things that sound really good to their own ears but make little sense and that do not stand up under scrutiny.
Take for example the Reverend Jeremiah Wright who this week was once again up on various stages rambling on incoherently. During one of his babbling appearances he actually declared that John McCain is the most patriotic candidate running for president.
No, the words “John McCain is the most patriotic candidate,” did not cross his lips. But what he did say amounts to that.
While trying, unsuccessfully mind you, to divert attention away from his plentiful remarks about how America is evil and even akin to terrorists, that the government invented AIDS to kill black people, calling successful people with dark skin, such as Condoleezza Rice, every name his little mind can concoct, he approached the topic of what he believes qualifies him to be considered a patriot of an America that he cannot apparently stand. Trying to establish his patriotic bona fides after proudly shouting “God damn America” from the pulpit he said, “I served six years in the military, does that make me patriotic? How many years did Cheney serve?”
Ok, looking beyond the idiocy of this argument which amounts to basically a claim that only people who served in the military are “patriotic”, let us look at the logical outcome of this statement and apply it to the current crop of presidential front runners shall we?
Has Barack Obama served in the military? No. So he is not patriotic.
Has Hillary Clinton served in the military? No – well unless you believe her false accounts that she actually did try to enlist. So she is not patriotic.
Has John McCain served in the military? Yes and actually suffered torture as a prisoner of war. So he, like Reverend Wright, would be “patriotic”.
See what I mean about how liberals do not think about what they are saying? They just say it. And then when the obvious conclusion is drawn they wind up actually saying something they did not mean to say.
The problem for liberals is that words don’t really mean things to them. When they say things that they believe like “God damn America” people gasp. Then they realize they have stepped over a line and that the unwashed masses partaking of their “opiates” are not quite ready for such talk. So they say something else to defend that first statement which makes even less sense and that actually winds up supporting their political opposition. They say things such as establishing a definition of “patriotism” that makes John McCain the best of the bunch and his own student, one Barack Obama, nothing more than an unpatriotic fool.
Of course Mr. Wright’s statements on patriotism make no logical sense. Many “patriots” have never severed in the military including many of the founding fathers who were the very first American patriots. Beyond that, he has also discussed how it is wrong to judge and condemn Louis Farrakhan for comments he made decades ago. So he has dug an even deeper hole for himself on the topic he hoped to escape considering how it is apparently right for him to condemn America for the sins of her past. Huh? Can we say “double standard”?
If it is wrong to judge Farrakhan on his past actions then how is it right to judge him on his past actions and grant him the status of “patriot”? How is it right for him to condemn America for events of the past? See? The more he talks the deeper that hole gets. We can only wonder how many shovels he will wear out during his dig and whether or not he will hit China any time soon.
Now because he has kept talking he has even contradicted his own spin. He is supposed to be “patriotic” because he once served but it is also in his mind wrong to hold people to account (and by corollary give them benefit) for their past actions. Logically if Farrakhan cannot be condemned for his past, Wright cannot be exalted for his.
You know, Benedict Arnold was a patriot. But then he became a traitor. People are judged by what they do as a whole and usually with a good amount of weight given to their most recent actions. When it comes to Reverend Wright, that analysis leads to one conclusion. And it is not a label of “patriot”.
