Liberty Reborn

Erik Rush, an oft contributor to our sister site The Land of the Free, was a guest on Sean Hannity’s radio show yesterday afternoon to discuss the issue of Jeremiah Wright and the Obama campaign.  Also appearing on the show was virulent liberal and left wing apologist Bob Beckel who apparently decided to employ the typical “shoot the messenger” tactic the left loves in order to deflect blame and criticism.

Many months ago, it was Mr. Rush that is widely credited with blowing the lid off the radical nature of Barack Obama’s church of choice and their belief in black superiority based on the fact that a summary of what the church stood for constantly referenced “black” this and “black” that.  Of course, now that the mainstream media is finally picking up the story, Mr. Rush has become a target.

As a black man, one would think that Mr. Rush would be perfectly qualified to discuss the “black experience” in America based on what we are constantly told about how us stupid, ignorant and racist white folk cannot possibly understand what it means to be black and why the Rev. Wright would race bait from the pulpit.  But apparently that is not the case because apparently Erik Rush is not black enough to count as allowed to have an opinion and Mr. Beckel is qualified despite being a white male oppressor because he is an Obama apologist.

So Beckel tried to paint Mr. Rush as someone that doesn’t understand the experience of being black, peppering the messenger with accusations such as whether or not he had even been forced to the back of the bus or had experiences with segregation.  The “Mr. Rush isn’t black enough” sham came crashing down when Erik informed Mr. Beckel that he had indeed run for his life from white bigots and also tried to share experiences of his parents that grew up in worse times than he did.

This of course left Bob Beckel flustered and stammering and, to his credit, Hannity saw the lameness of his attacks and kept him from going on down the path of idiocy.

And let this be a lesson to all you black folk who dare come off the plantation and dare speak out against any of your brothers and sisters.  You too can be treated like Erik Rush just for daring to not accept liberalism as you savior.
